Waiver Adds, Avoids, and Trade-Targets for Week 10
Waiver players you should TRUST:
Steelers Kicker, Chris Boswell
The Wizard of Boz is the #2 kicker in fantasy, but the Steelers are coming off of their BYE. He’s still owned in most leagues but you NEED to check if he’s available. Chris Boswell will change the course of your season.
Bengals TE, Mike Gesicki
Gesicki is LETHAL when Tee Higgins is out and if you own Tee, Gesicki is the handcuff. If you're needy at TE then why not roll with Gesicki? The Bengals pass game has been great lately... it's worth a stab.
49ers Kicker, Jake Moody
Moody was the #5 Kicker before going down, and he is returning this week for a Niners offense that has struggled to convert in the red zone all season long. Moody was placed on IR by San Fran so nobody will have him rostered.
Broncos QB, Bo Nix
Another week where Bo Nix and the Broncos are undervalued, and Bo always finds a way to score be it passing, rushing, or receiving. Nix is scoring better than CJ Stroud who likely won't hit waivers, but Nix is sitting there for the taking in most leagues.
Chargers QB, Justin Herbert
LAC is starting to throw more because their rushing attack is lame, and since Week 6 Herbert is the QB11, ahead of Goff, Cousins, Stafford, and more. Facing Tennessee isn’t the greatest matchup but Herbert is so good he could make it work.
Patriots TE Hunter Henry
Since Maye took over in Week 6, Hunter Henry is the TE9 ahead of big names like Jake Ferguson and Dalton Kincaid. He's scoring well and consistently at a position where that is a rarity.
Waiver players to DISTRUST:
Giants TE, Theo Johnson
Johnson is coming off a top 5 performance last week, carried by a late TD. Johnson is improving and is the future at the position for NYG, but 2024 is not his time, at least in the Giants current situation. If they make a move at QB (Tommy DeVito) then he may be FF-viable.
Browns QB, Jameis Winston
Winston is a loose cannon and facing an awful schedule for the next 5 games. Winston was a PEST last week and we will continue to fade him against these tough pass defenses.
Chargers WR, Quentin Johnston
Johnston has had some nice games recently, but it's not because he's playing better, it's that defenses don't view him as a threat. QJ will have a big game like this then get covered, do nothing, then forgotten about the next week, have a big game, and so on.
49ers WR, Ricky Pearsall
Jauan Jennings is expected to return, as is CMC. With the return of both of these players and his missed time from earlier this season... he's not experienced enough to force his way into the lineup. Pearsall is good, don’t get me wrong, but his time hasn’t come just yet.
Vikings TE, Josh Oliver
Coming off a big game on SNF, it's all anyone is going to remember, not the fact that TJ Hockenson is returning, or that Oliver had 15.2 total points in the first 7 games of the season.
Players to BUY-LOW:
Texans WR, Nico Collins
His time is coming sooner rather than later. Nico was on an insane run to start the year and is now going to have more red-zone opportunities with Diggs out for the year. If the Nico-owner is a playoff hopeful you can get a sweet deal via separation.
Seahawks WR, DK Metcalf
DK and Nico have been on this list and for good reason... these owners are getting desperate. If you can afford to trade a strong player these guys are both LEAGUE WINNERS.
Colts WR, Michael Pittman
I saw multiple people mention Josh Downs but we all know that he's the first look for Flacco. Instead of trading something with value for Downs, I'm trading pieces like Rachaad White for Pittman. After SNF the public hates Flacco, and the same goes for Michael Pittman.
Packers WR, Romeo Doubs
I have the same origin and reasoning for Doubs over Reed, but Doubs might even be on waivers. He's a WR 3 evaluation but Love will be back to 100% after the BYE, and Doubs was starting to break out before the injury/rain game. This will be CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP.
Players to SELL-HIGH
Falcons QB, Kirk Cousins
Kirk is facing New Orleans this week which is a perfect time to trade him, the next 4 weeks are not going to be good for ATL. There's so much value at QB on waivers right now, take advantage while you still can. No one will trade for Kirk with the Denver matchup staring up at them.
Ravens WR, Diontae Johnson
I highly doubt DJ will be rostered in most leagues by Week 14, so if you have him rostered trade him now before people realize he's just a good NFL piece, not a good FF piece. DJ for Doubs straight up? Yes, please.
Broncos WR, Courtland Sutton
Sutton is coming off of two big FF events but it is solely because of their schedule, facing CAR and BAL in their last two games. I'd trade Sutton into anything more consistent in the WR2 range ASAP. Remember that 0-target game?
Deep league/dynasty targets:
49ers WR, Jauan Jennings
Jennings and Pearsall are the long-term plans at WR for San Fran after they sign Purdy. They won’t be able to retain Kittle, Deebo, and Aiyuk. From what I see on tape, Jauan and Brock have the best connection on the team.
Falcons WR, Ray-Ray McCloud
If Drake London is out this week we could see a big bump for Darnell Mooney and McCloud. London is the only receiver Kirk throws to without fail, and those 10+ targets need to go somewhere.
Giants QB, Tommy DeVito
I know that Mara said they were sticking by Brian Daboll but if they lose to Carolina in Germany, I find it very hard to believe he still has a job after the wheels touchdown in NY. If Daboll is dumped, ownership will want to play DeVito because they already know Dimes and Lock are not the future of the franchise.
