Waiver Adds, Avoids, and Deep League Targets - Week 14
Waiver Players You Should Trust:
49ers RB Isaac Guerendo
This is an obvious one, Guerendo has virtually no competition and will likely be the best waiver pickup for the rest of the season.
Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith
Somehow Jonnu is still owned in under 50% of leagues… I don’t know how he is. Jonnut is the #1 TE in fantasy since Week 11 and has 3-straight games over 20 PPR points.
Titans WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine
Ikhine just scores touchdowns, there’s not much else to it. He’s starting to look like a real NFL WR and Tennessee faces a bunch of weaker pass defense teams to close out the season.
Saints WR Marquez Valdez-Scantling
Low targets but he’s scoring TDs consistently just like NWI… and New Orleans has no actual WR talent right now, and with Taysom going down, someone needs to catch passes.
Falcons QB Michael Penix
For the needy or instead of a random RB handcuff, Penix is an exciting gamble. The Atlanta offense has the weapons, they just haven’t had the QB this season… Kirk has looked off all year going back to that Week 1 game against Pittsburgh that was a field goal-fest. If Atlanta loses/is crushed by Minnesota this week we could see them move to the future as they fall below .500. If they lose we won’t hear the end of people calling for Penix to start.
Waiver Players You Should DISTRUST:
Jaguars WR Parker Washington
Washington scores a TD and goes for 100 yards and everyone loses their minds, but NWI scores 8TDs in 8 weeks and nobody blinks an eye. I view this as a random blip but I am keeping my eye on the situation moving forward.
Giants QB Drew Lock
He might start again this weekend, and we all saw how well that went on Thanksgiving…
Cardinals WR Michael Wilson
I think Michael Wilson might be the best receiver on Arizona’s team, and he showed out in this game, but it’s just a blip. The Cardinals have no real interest in getting anyone involved in the passing game outside of McBride/MHJ.
Deep League/Dynasty Targets:
Titans QB Will Levis
Levis has been playing like a Top-10 QB the last month, and he has a nice schedule to close out the year. Tennessee plays two games against Jacksonville in the next 4 weeks.
Raiders QB Aidan O’Connell
AOC is a half-way decent QB but I’m mainly interested in his volume. The Raiders are terrible and have to throw the ball a ton, but unlike other terrible teams they do actually move the ball… thanks to Brock Bowers.
Broncos WR Marvin Mims
Denver is on BYE this week so everyone’s going to forget about that 90-yard TD he had last night, but I’ve been interested in Mims for a while now. Mims has been playing like a young Deebo/Tyreek getting snaps at WR and RB for a few weeks now and showed he has the speed to break any play for a big gain.
Jaguars WR Parker Washington
This is the first time I’ve doubled up on a player on one of these, but Washington’s situation is interesting. I don’t trust Jones or Trevor at all, but coming from the slot and getting 12 targets is something to be interested in. Let’s see where this goes from here.
D/ST Streaming:
Saints D/ST at NYG
The Giants are terrible and will likely be starting Drew Lock again. Even with DeVito you’re almost guaranteed 5+ sacks with their awful O-line.
Titans D/ST vs. JAX
Basically the same analysis for the Saints as I do for Tennessee, except it’s Mac Jones at QB. How desperate are you to trust Tennessee to not screw this one up?
Jaguars D/ST at TEN
Basically the same analysis as the previous two, but Jacksonville doesn't have a great defense. How desperate are you to trust Tennessee to not screw this up?
Seahawks D/ST at ARI
The Seattle defense has really been coming into its own the past couple of weeks and could be having a Broncos-esc rise. Seattle played the Cardinals two weeks ago and held them to 6 points. If Seattle can win this game they’re almost guaranteed to win the NFC West… I expect this team to play energized.
