2024 Week 5: Giants 29, Seahawks 20
The Giants were undoubtedly the better team, but as they always do, they tried to hand the game over to Seattle. This game started with a goalline fumble by Eric Gray that Seattle returned for a 100-yard touchdown. Instead of 7-0 New York it was 7-0 Seattle. After that play the Giants handed it to Seattle, starting without any momentum, on the road, down a score. Most teams would have folded but the Giants played a great game and beat Seattle without Malik Nabers.
The Giants rise to (2-3) but they were a healthy kicker away from beating Washington, and a few small moments away from beating the Cowboys. The Giants wouldhave a winning record if not for Gano’s injury.
Seattle falls to (3-2) and are frauds. This was shown on TNF last night… they just benefitted from a favorable schedule early on.

QB Report:
- I’m not a Daniel Jones (23/34 for 257 yards, 2 TDs, 11 rushes for 38 yards) believer but I have to admit, he played a really good game. Jones didn’t look timid and ran with authority. A confident Daniel Jones turns the Giants into a semi-real offense with a strong defense. If this version of Danny Dimes showed up every week from now to the end of the season we would have a fun race between Washington and NYG for the NFC East crown.
RB Report:
- Tyrone Tracy (18-129-0) had a breakout performance, the Giants' 3rd-string running back is their best back, and the one they cut before the season was even better than Tracy. Tracy’s arrival wasn’t planned, Eric Gray (4-4-0, 3 catches for 50 yards) was off to a hot start but he was stopped short of the end zone multiple times, and ultimately fumbled the ball away and his lead role in this game.
Tracy has a big roadblock in his way for the lead role for New York, Devin Singletary and Brian Daboll have roots going back to their Buffalo days. Tracy is better but Singletary is the coach's guy. Good luck getting past that.
WR Report:
- Malik Nabers was out which spawned Darius Slayton (8-122-1/11). Slayton was locked down by Tariq Woolen and had most of his catches/yards after Woolen left with an injury. Wan’Dale Robinson (6-36-1/9) keeps producing, he has been consistent all year, and doing it without Nabers is a big step for him. Nabers will be out for the Giants game this weekend again.
Rookie tight end Theo Johnson (5-48-0/5) had his first moment of his career. He is no doubt the Giants starting TE and is starting to get that treatment from Jones.
D/ST Report:
- DK Metcalf (4-55-0/7, Fumble) was the alpha WR between the two teams in this game and the Giants handled him very well. DK still had opportunities to have a bigger game but he dropped a pass and had another big play called back by a penalty. The Giants have a very good young core in their secondary with Tyler Nubin (9 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 fumble recovery) and Dru Phillips (4 tackles). This defense is playing up to their potential.
- Seattle DE Derick Hall (6 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 2 QB hits) has been a nightmare for opposing QBs. He is up to 5 sacks and 10 QB hits on the year.
